Monthly Forecast for July 2007
July begins with Mercury still retrograde until the 9th. Click on the link if youre not sure about Mercury retrograde, but if you are, heres a story... I use Mr. Gs WB 11 weather page to get my local forecast. Starting on June 18th, three days after Mercury stationed to retrograde, the radar went down on the site. At the end of June, the radar loop link had a message stating that the radar system is down, and is not expected to be up again until July 8th, the day before Mercury stations to go direct!
On the 1st, Venus conjuncts Saturn. The day before is a full moon, and Venus is also opposite to Neptune. So June 30th is liable to have us all flying high with ideas and dreams, romantic or otherwise, and then comes the meeting of the Goddess of Love with Saturn. In short, we can fly high on the weekend, but then we have to pay the piper on Sunday morning. Come to think of it, with the moon in Capricorn, we probable wont be flying all that high on Saturday night...
The last quarter moon is on the 7th, in the sign of Aries. The last quarter of the lunar cycle is about finishing up what needs to be done and taking away the rewards for our work. The moon in Aries also wants to push ahead, but think of this time as an opportunity to plant some seeds for the future. Take stock of your resources, but try to resist the push into action, especially with all the retrogrades.
On the 8th, Venus makes a helpful trine (an easy aspect) to Pluto. Now Pluto is the Lord of the Underworld, and his relationship to Venus is often a little strained. But with an easy aspect, its possible for the two of them to find some common ground. On a superficial level, we might find ourselves finding our aesthetics drawn to darker subjects, watching The Godfather on television or something like that.
But Venus in a harmonious aspect to Pluto promises more. It could be a good day to get those in power to recognize your value. Were it not for Mercurys retrograde and Venus own impending reversal, it would be a good day to ask for a loan or get an assessment or appraisal. In the sphere of personal relationships, the Plutonian energy flowing into Venusian pursuits can get very sexy (in a goth kind of way, admittedly), and since trine indicate release it can be a good day to give your lover the heave-ho, if youre so inclined.
Mercury turns direct on the 9th. Although this signals the all-clear for Mercury related pursuits, dont run out to buy that wide-screen TV just yet. Give the messenger a few days to get up to speed, and if you really want to be careful, wait until the 24th, when he leaves his retrograde shadow,
On the 11th, the sun is in a trine with eccentric Uranus. Its a great time to try something out of the ordinary, as new ideas are favored with this aspect. Since the sun is in Cancer and Uranus is in Pisces, lets see..... well, you might try some exotic seafood (if youre going to be literal about things).
The new moon is on the 14th. As always, the days before and just after a new moon are good for rest, meditation, and generally taking it easy. As the moon waxes during the following week to its first quarter on the 22nd, new energy is available for whatever needs to get done.
On the same day, Venus enters Virgo, the sign of her fall. As shes about to retrograde on the 27th, things are doubly dubious in the relationship department. In Virgo, Venus tends to be too particular, too concerned with details.
Mars has a nice sextile to Uranus on the 20th. This soft aspect puts two energetic and somewhat erratic planets in a nice relationship with each other. Its a good day for physical activities of all sorts.
The first quarter moon is on the 22nd. This is the first big push after the new moon. In the sign of Libra, it focuses us on relationships and business partners. Still, with Venus about to retrograde on the 27th, you might roll the dice and move six spaces forward, only to draw a card that says Go back three spaces.
On the 23rd, the sun enters Leo, its home sign. Among its many virtues, Leo is the sign of Summer Fun. Think of it - there are no school days in Leo! Of course, this is the third summer that Saturn is in Leo (hes moving out at the end of summer), so the sun has to contend with this cloudy house guest. Still, although were likely to hear complaints about what we do for fun, and the Summer Blockbuster movies are likely to be a bit weak, theres no reason we cant enjoy ourselves.
The 24th has a square of Mars to Neptune. This aspect tends to push us beyond the limits, as energetic Mars confronts no-limits Neptune. Watch out for yourself and others driving too fast, and if you see someone getting angry, take cover. Mars also rules sexual energy, for those of you who are heeding my advice about summer fun (see the 23rd, above).
On the 27th, Venus goes retrograde, taking our relationships, partnerships of all sorts, and our values with her. Click here for the full scoop on Venus retrograde.
The 28th has a now direct Mercury in a trine to Uranus. This is a good day for all pursuits of media, communications, and other Mercury ruled activities. It would also be a good day to schedule group meetings, especially given the full moon tomorrow.
Julys full moon is on the 29th, in the outgoing and quirky sign of Aquarius.
On the last day of July, the 31st, Mars is square to Saturn. This is one of the aspects that I always describe as jamming on the accelerator with the parking brake on. I used to try to come up with other ways to say it, but thats really a perfect description. Some of us (or some parts of each of us) want to GO! (Mars) but some of us say NO! (Saturn). This, of course, is a recipe for frustration and all its associated emotions. As Mars is in Venus sign of Taurus and shes retrograde, Im assuming that moving forward will be difficult now.
Really, July is a quiet month, astrologically, although how all of this hits your chart is another story. Still, I think the planets are telling us to take some time off and enjoy those lazy, hazy crazy days of summer... those days of sodas, and pretzels, and beer....
(so, the guy that wrote that song associated pretzels with summer, huh?... I always think of the winter, when they sell them warm in the city...)
But I digress. Have a good July!
