Monthly Forecast for June 2009
by Armand Diaz
Relative harmony. The emphasis is on the word relative, and what each of us individually is facing is of course another question. But the skies are relatively harmonious for the first three weeks of June, and that should help the collective mindset, especially since the month is sandwiched between station-heavy May and eclipse-rich July.
Its an opportunity to back off a bit, get some perspective, and do some building on the changes that have been swirling around us for some time now.
On June 2nd, Venus makes nice sextiles to Neptune and Jupiter. Think of these as opportunity periods in the areas of relationship and finance. You have to spot the potential and do the work to make things happen, but it is a good time to make your dreams come true. Its also a very good time for any artistic project.
The energy is flowing strongly on the 4th, as Mars and Pluto make a trine. Put the potential to good use, in any area of life.
The 5th has the sun and Saturn in a tense square, just two days before the full moon. Conflict with authority is a real possibility, but we might also manage to feel this as a more internal aspect. The pressure is on to
On the 6th, Venus comes home to Taurus, moving relationship concerns from the Me-First of Aries to a mellower and more earthy focus on pleasure and values. As sometimes happens when weve been away, however, she finds that there is work to do around the house, as she gets into a minor but irritable aspect with Saturn that same day. The urge to enjoy is strong, but may need to be postponed by work issues of one kind or another.
The moon is full on the 7th. The full moon in Sagittarius is a very high-energy moon, ready to help us say yes to anything and everything. Being scattered is the down side, but were unlikely to focus on problems right now.
Venus and Pluto make a nice trine on the 8th. Relationships will benefit, especially if they need an infusion of passion. This is also about as nice a time as there is to deal with banks or get something appraised.
The 9th and 10th have a very interesting vibe, as Mercury makes aspects to Uranus, Jupiter and Neptune. This is a great time to receive creative inspiration and come up with brilliant new ideas, but not the best time to try to put things into action. You can think of it as a little two-day Mercury retrograde, although one with lots of energy. Things may go wrong with communications, electronics and contracts, but the opportunity to see new solutions to old problems is certainly there.
For those with great memories (or big issues), you might find resolution to Mercury-type problems which started around the end of April or in mid-May.
Jupiters station to retrograde on the 15th is pretty big doins. This is another aspect that will fire up our Yes!! function. Like all times when inspiration and faith are running high, it may be a great opportunity to put into action that which youve already decided on, but there is a tendency to be a little impulsive, so if you do get a brilliant new idea, count to ten before acting on it. This is also the day of the last quarter moon, which is more tuned to decisions than action.
Holding back on action might be hard on the 15th, however, as Mars and Uranus are approaching a friction-filled semisquare on the 16th. Impulsive action is the keyword for this aspect.
The energy on the 17th is off the charts, as the sun and Venus aspect Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune. Once again, inspiration is very high, and the push into action is also very strong. To the extent that our relationships and finances, or just about any aspect of life, is feeling stable, this day ought to provide insights and opportunities to see things in a new way. For those of us with lives which are a little less on track, watch for flaring tempers and rash decisions.
On the 21st, the sun enters Cancer, the summer solstice. The long climb upwards in the sky reaches its peak in the northern hemisphere, the days are at their longest and the sun is as close to overhead as he ever gets. Of course, just as summer begins the sun turns toward the south and begins his trek downwards, towards Capricorn, and winter.
We might not have time for reflection on the profundities of the yearly cycle, however, as the sun is making tense aspects to Venus and Mars, on the same day that the symbols of male and female energy meet up in Taurus. Relationship and financial questions will have an edge, but note that the tension may not be coming from personal issues (although it may feel very personal) but from more collective sources. These aspects are happening on the World Axis, and we may see some very public displays of Mars and Venus.
Whatever happens on the 21st, we have the opportunity to move forward on the 22nd, as Mars and Venus trine Saturn. Usually, this would be a good time to build relationships and put things into action, perhaps based on the insights weve been having over the course of June. But this is also the day of the new moon, a quiet time of reflection. That seems to say that this is more about letting go of conflicts and their causes than building something new.
The lunar month gets a kick-start on the 23rd, as the Venus, the sun, and Mars all make hard aspects to Pluto. Up until now, June has been a balanced month, tilting towards the easy side, astrologically. But that which has been left unresolved will come to the surface in the last week of the month. You might find yourself battling a monster of some kind, particularly in the areas of relationship or finances. While your foe may be very real, there is also the possibility that the real enemy is somewhere within, in an attitude or belief that no longer serves you.
The 26th has a square between Mercury and Saturn. After the nuclear beginning of the week, the worst that is likely to happen will probably feel inevitable and expected. Still, it isnt a good day to tangle with authority, ask favors, or put in a vacation request. That sort of stuff ought to be done earlier in the month, if at all possible.
The first quarter moon on the 29th is in the sign of Libra. All areas of life can get a push towards action, but relationships are especially likely to move forward.
A sneak peak at July shows that Uranus is going to station to go retrograde on the 1st. Uranus stations amp up tension and can make us impulsive and arbitrary. They are great for helping us to take steps we have been reluctant to try, but clinging to the status quo can result in some profound irritability. Well feel the station from at least the last quarter moon on June 29th.
