Monthly Forecast for November 2007
November has a real mixed bag of planetary energies. On a personal level, both Venus (planet of love and relationship) and Mercury (communications and commerce) are both very busy, while collectively Uranus and Neptune are active. Right in the middle we have Mars, a personal planet whos very powerful right now in a very sensitive place for the United States.
On the 1st, Mercury stations to go direct after three weeks of retrograding. Click here for the straight dope on Mercury retrograde, but remember that things are most likely to go wrong right around the station dates, so wait a few days before engaging in Mercurial activities. It would be good to wait a week, if you can, before buying electronics, a car, or signing contracts. But certainly give it at least two days.
The 1st is also the day of the last quarter moon, a time when we harvest what weve learned recently. For the next week, the mood is one of progressively turning inwards.
The sun trines Mars on the 4th, traditionally a time with lots of energy which can be used constructively. This aspect is in the watery signs of Cancer and Scorpio, putting the focus on emotional clearing on one level, and security on another.
Venus squares off with Pluto on the 6th. This aspect can ignite power stuggles in relationships, and also has the potential to create problems in the business world or personal finance, as values are contested. Its a good time to consider what it is you really value - this isnt a great time to act, but it is a good time to see what it is youd really like the outcome of your actions to be.
The new moon is on the 9th. As always, the new moon is a time for quiet and reflection. Its best used as a day to meditate or otherwise move inwarrds. This new moon is in the dark waters of Scorpio, the sign of death and rebirth. The moon isnt crazy about this sign, which is too raw for its nurturing energy. But you can use this new moon to reflect on the year as it draws to a close. Over the next month, the days will be at their shortest as the light dies into the Winter Solstice. This new moon is then a time to recognize the passing of the year, while beginning to prepare seeds for the new year.
On the 11th, the sun is square to Neptune. This energy can keep the deep mysteries of the new moon going for a while. It is not a very good day for making practical decisions, however. Do use the day to imagine a different future.
Mars stations to go retrograde on the 15th. For the next two and half months (until January 30th), Mars will be doing the cosmic backstroke from Cancer into Gemini. This is a significant retrograde for the united States (Click here for more on this), but in general Mars retrograde is a time when we rarely have the energy to move forward with many things. New jobs and sexual relationships (oh well) are especially noted to be in trouble if they begin with Mars retrograde, but many projects will suffer from not having adequate forward momentum.
The 16th has an easy aspect between Saturn and Mercury, a good time to ask for help from those in authority, or to clear up a mess that was made during Mercurys retrograde.
The first quarter moon is on the 17th, traditionally a good time to put things into action and make decisions, but with Mars retrograde the field of activity is limited.
Venus and Mars are in a tense square on the 19th. What we value and how we act might not be on the same page. Venus is in Libra, where she wants to put a graceful face on everything and follow through with good form and manners. Mars retriograde in Cancer is too concerned with self-protection and security to worry about the niceties. In your relationships, you might feel a little pull between the pleasant surface and some underlying insecurities. Venus is stronger now, and well probably keep up appearances despite any difficult feelings.
Also on the 19th, Mercury is in an easy aspect to Mars, which ought to help with communication, making it a little easier to express what we want.
On the 21st, Mercury gets a creative boost from Uranus, and aspect which is great for suggesting new ideas, or for brainstorming for creative solutions.
The sun bounces into Sagittarius on the 22nd. Over the next month hell meet up with Pluto, whos getting ready to leave this uplifting but polarizing sign. Well be thinking a lot about what weve learned over the last 12 years about religion and spirituality, and the sun will be triggering many of these issues. But well talk more about that in December.
The 24th is the most charged day of November, as it is both a full moon (always an active time) and a station of the planet Uranus to move direct after his retrograde. The moon is also in the high-energy sign of Gemini, illuminated by the sun in fiery Sagittarius. Coming just two days after Thanksgiving, you might have trouble digesting your turkey with this energy in the air. To add fuel to the fire, Mercury is in a square to Neptune today, so all of the activity might be based on faulty information, or we might have difficulty getting the real story about whats going on.
Venus is in a nice aspect to Neptune on the 26th. This helps us to dream big and connects our personal feelings of love and grace to the more universal concern for all of us and our planet.
On the 27th, the moon meets up with retrograde Mars, an opportunity to see some of the concrete manifestations of this Mars retrograde period.
The last major aspect of November is a square between the sun and Saturn on the 30th. The sun in Sag is optimistic and inspired, ready to act on its beliefs, but Saturn in Virgo wants to know the real cost and if the plan is sustainable. On a local level, this aspect might get you to tighten your purse strings a little in your holiday shopping (maybe not a bad thing), while at the collective level well want to know what our plans will really cost us. This could very well be tied into the environment (Saturn is in an earth sign) or the economy. Anyway you slice it, this day looks to ground out high-flying ideas.
